Love is contagious.

Baruch 5:1-9 | or Malachi 3:1-4 | Philippians 1:3-11 | Luke 3:1-6 | Canticle 4 or 16

Paul to the Philippians:

And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best…

Love, like hatred, is contagious and time is only important to us. So I pray that St. Paul’s prayer for those early Christians rings true, right now, for me and for you.

Imagine: what would happen if each conscious and unconscious breath of unconditional love – for ourselves and for each other, for each of our own children and grandchildren, for all of our known and not-yet-known friends at St. Luke’s, in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, our country, our world and his universe – were to just plain “overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight” and thereby help [each and all of us] to determine what is best”?

If so, I suspect, God’s kingdom of justice and peace would come, for each and all and more and more of us, here and now.
