God Prevails

Jeremiah 11:18–20  |  John 7:37–52  |  Psalm 7:6–11

Let us destroy the tree with its fruit

Let us cut him from the land of the living,

So that his name will no longer be remembered.”

–  Jeremiah 11:18-20

This passage from Jeremiah reminds me that God prevails even in turbulent times. The Pharisees wanted to destroy Christ for they did not like the message He shared and feared for their own authority. Yet, Christ has prevailed through centuries of turmoil and confusion.

This thought makes me feel that goodness will prevail despite all the evil, madness and  anger surrounding us today.

Oh God, lift up my heart and open my ears for the sound of sanity

in our turbulent times.
