The Lord is always there for us.

Psalm 31

9 Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;
my eyes grow weak with sorrow,
my soul and body with grief.
10 My life is consumed by anguish
and my years by groaning;
my strength fails because of my affliction,
and my bones grow weak.

In this time of Lent, I think about what has gone on in my life and how my life could be so different if I had followed a different path.

The Psalm of the day really got me thinking about things that have happened in the past. Like seven years ago my dad died from heart problems. In this Psalm God reminds us that we all have distress that makes us want to break down and cry. But we are reminded that the Lord is always there for us and will never leave us.

I remember losing my dad at the age of 10. It was one of the hardest things that could have ever happened in my life. Part of it is remembering the person and reflecting on them can lead to anguish and sadness. In this season of Lent, don’t forget that the Lord always loves us, even when we have hard times of grief and anguish, and the Lord never leaves us. The Lord walks besides us and sometimes carries us during those times.
