Help us better understand God’s love.

Ezekiel 18:21–28 |  Matthew 5:20–26  |  Psalm 130

Lent is my favorite time of the church year.  Forty days to remember Christ being tempted by the devil.  His strength.  His love for us.  God’s love for us. To ponder what Christ went through for us, and to prepare ourselves for celebrating Christ’s Resurrection.  Many give up something duriing Lent, others take on giving or concentrating on meditating or reading or volunteering  – both can help us better understand God’s love.

“De profundis,” or “out of the depths” is how Psalm 130 begins.  We call to the Lord, asking for Him to hear us, to forgive us, and we wait for His mercy.

The Matthew passage requires us to seek out any we have wronged.  To ask for forgiveness, to reconcile.

Would that we could experience this in ourselves and our world today!  Introspection and Expectation.  Thank you, Lord!
