He who calls you is to be trusted.

Isaiah 2:12-22 | 1 Thessalonians 3:1-13 | Luke 20:27-40

I was assigned 1 Thessalonians chapter 3, but this is a short epistle so I read the entire letter and found treasures in chapter 5.  Paul is closing his letter with the following words of gentle instruction:  And we would urge you, brothers,  to admonish the careless, encourage the faint-hearted, support the weak, and to be very patient with them all. 

The words of instruction spoke to me.  This is a lot to live up to, and that is discouraging.  I can’t live up to it in my own strength.

 But comfort came in the words of blessing that follow:  He who calls you is to be trusted; He will do it.
