God is with us though prayer.
March 21, 2021
Jeremiah 31:31-34 | Hebrews 5:5-10 | John 12:20-33 | Psalm 51:1-13
Psalm 51:1-13 talks about all kinds of things we have done wrong in God’s sight and how we want to make them right. Prayer is one way to help with this. There is beauty in prayer and we can find great joy in it. We know we won’t ever be perfect, but God is with us though prayer.
This has been a tough year for all of us and prayer is important. I remember learning long ago in Sunday School that we shouldn’t use prayer just to ask God to do things for us. We should always say “thank you” prayers for all the what He has already done for us.
I hope you enjoy this poem…
The Mystery of Prayer
Beyond that which words can interpret
Or theology can explain
The soul feels a “shower of refreshment”
That falls like the gentle rain.
Our hearts that are parched with problems
And searching to find the way
To somehow attract God’s attention
Through well-chosen words as they pray.
Not knowing that God in his wisdom
Can sense all man’s worry and woe
For there is nothing man can conceal
That God doesn’t already know…
So kneel in prayer in his presence
And you will feel no need to speak
For softly in silent communion
God grants you the peace that you seek.
