Believing is Seeing!

December 21, 2023

Habakkuk 2:1-4  |  Psalm 126  |  Hebrews 10:35-11: 1  |   John 20:24-29

Thomas was known as “Doubting Thomas”.  He did not believe things unless he saw them himself.  He did not believe Jesus had risen until he actually felt and saw the wounds in Jesus’ hands and feet.

In this day and age, we must believe things that we cannot see. That is a part of our faith!  How can we believe that which we cannot see?  We must believe others and their impact on us!

When my father and my wife died, I felt God/Jesus had taken those I loved away from me.  I could not understand why God had taken them so soon.  It was when I realized they both had left impacts on the lives of others that I knew He took them when he had to!  I had no idea what a positive impact my father and wife had on so many people – many of whom I did not know!

I was watching CNN’s Heroes program last night.  There were ten “heroes” who had strong impacts on the lives of many other people.  I will never see any of these “heroes” or the ones they impact through their service, but I believe it is through these “heroes” that God’s work is being done.  I have to believe even though I cannot see!  It is with this belief that God’s work is being done!
