Micah 7:14-15 | Luke 15:11-32 | Psalm 103:1-12
My mind began to meander as I sat with today’s readings. One of the reasons for my winding and weaving thoughts is that many of these words are familiar, I have heard them before. How many times have I heard the story of the prodigal son? Too many for me to name – in the liturgy, during a sermon or as part of an Adult Faith Formation conversation, to name just a few. This feeling of familiarity soon brought me to a place of profound and soul shaking gratitude. I am beyond grateful for this beloved community of St. Luke’s. My life has been forever changed because of this beautiful community. My Gary and I have been coming through the doors of St. Luke’s for over a decade and it has been a life-changing, a life-giving experience. My personal relationship with God has deepened in no small part because of being welcomed into and being a part of our St. Luke’s church family. And like all families, St. Luke’s will continue to change, evolve and hopefully grow and for that I am also profoundly grateful. Thanks be to God.
