More beautiful every time the LORD shines his light through it.

Psalm 34:18
The LORD is near to the broken-hearted,
and saves the crushed in spirit.
I know the joy of having the LORD near me after having my heart broken. Since 2018, the road (which I call ‘BROKEN-HEARTED boulevard’) has been like a roller coaster, with a lot of ups and downs and twists and turns. The LORD has been there through every mile that I have traveled on this boulevard.
There have been many times that I thought that I was traveling alone, but the LORD would give me a sign that HE was right there beside me. Sometimes that sign would come through different people in my life; whether it was all of the people at St. Luke’s, or through the people in the different grief support groups, or through friends and family.
Recently, I read someone’s description of a broken-heart as a heart that looks like a ‘stained glass’ heart. Being made of multiple pieces and held together like a ‘stained glass’ window. With every event that causes a heart to be broken again, it gets put back together with another colorful piece of glass. Making it more beautiful every time the LORD shines his light through it.
